"Let the creativity flow through you"
Writing in long or shorthand can be incredibly useful and it requires pen and paper, nothing else. For myself it unleashes the creative process in a refreshing way. Makes you slow down, instead of speeding up. Whenever an idea comes up then it is always good to have pen and paper beside you.
Longhand: Writing the story or sections on a piece of paper.
Shorthand: Writing down facts, systems, magic, language on a piece of paper.
It also helps when it comes to avoiding screentime or scrolling on social media for to long. There is no right or wrong way when you are writing down your ideas on a peace paper. Let it be messy, only you know what your scribbles really mean and what is important to keep in that moment.
Even if they are lose notes or key words it will save a lot of time when you are creating new things for your book. It has saved me a lot of times and have been a important first step in my writing process.
It does not matter if it is big or small, long or short, you never know if it will become usable in your book.
